Bentley's Playhouse
A volunteer-run dog rescue in South Florida — rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming — and the home of the Fénix Animal Project.
Overview
Bentley's Playhouse is a dog rescue in South Florida. It takes dogs out of abuse, neglect and backyard breeding, rehabilitates them and rehomes them, and it supports other rescues with volunteering and supplies.
Alongside the rescue work it publishes practical help for the public: what to do when you find a dog, when you lose one, or when you take one in, together with a veterinary directory, hurricane and emergency planning, Florida and federal animal law, microchipping and rehoming guidance — in English and Spanish.
It runs entirely on volunteers and presents the Fénix Animal Project. It is a nonprofit corporation registered in Florida and founded by Cata Balzano, and a separate legal entity from Cata Balzano, Inc.
Purpose
To get dogs out of harm and into homes, and to give the people around them — finders, owners, fosters and other rescues — the practical information they need in the moment they need it.
Primary audience
Adopters and fosters in South Florida, people who have found or lost a dog, volunteers and donors, and other rescue organisations.
