About the Company

One company, several front doors.

Cata Balzano, Inc. is a multimedia production and publishing company that develops and operates independent brands across media, education, lifestyle and social impact.

The idea

Cata Balzano, Inc. began with a working problem rather than a business plan. The idea started in New York in 2011; the company was incorporated in 2016. Reporting, producing and hosting across entertainment, culture and fashion had produced several bodies of work that wanted to grow in different directions — and filing them all under one name was making each of them harder to find.

So the work was split into brands. The company was formed to own them, develop them and give each one room to become its own thing.

Why separate brands

A brand is a promise to a specific audience. The promise made to someone reading an artist interview is not the promise made to a business learning to shoot its own video, and neither resembles the promise made to a rescue organisation during a natural disaster.

Keeping those promises distinct means each property can have its own voice, its own visual identity and its own pace — while the company underneath handles strategy, production, publishing and the business relationships that fund the work.

What connects them

Storytelling, in the practical sense: finding what matters in something, and building the clearest possible way for people to reach it. That is the same instinct behind an interview, a content course, a lifestyle column and a searchable directory of animal rescue organisations. The subject changes. The method doesn’t.

Culture, education, creativity and social impact are not separate departments here — they are four places the same craft is useful.

The company’s role

Cata Balzano, Inc. was incorporated in 2016 and is based in Miami, Florida. It has also operated from London, Nice and Rome.

It is an S corporation and the parent entity for every property listed on this site, and the only registered company through which the services provided by its brands are contracted and invoiced, so a partner working with any one brand is working with the company.

The nonprofit alongside it

Cata Balzano also founded Bentley’s Playhouse, a volunteer-run dog rescue named after her French bulldog. It rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes dogs in South Florida, and it runs the Fénix Animal Project — an animal welfare and rescue portal built for emergencies and natural disasters. It is registered as a nonprofit corporation in Florida.

Bentley’s Playhouse is a separate legal entity. It is not owned by Cata Balzano, Inc. and does not operate as one of its brands. It is listed in the portfolio because the work shares a founder and a method, and because anyone mapping this ecosystem should be able to see the whole of it — clearly labelled for what it is.

Room to grow

The portfolio is designed to be added to. New publications, products and projects join it as brands in their own right, which keeps every existing audience intact as the company grows.
